Why am I having difficulty accessing my accounts on line?

Posted on October 30th, 2009 by admin in on-line access | 1 Comment »

I have had several accounts (bank, utilities, credit cards etc.) set up on my computer for some time now. Just had to sign in with user name and password. Lately though, many of them want me to submit my account number and answer security questions before allowing access. I have checked boxes "recognize me on this computer" and "don’t ask me security questions" many times. Doesn’t help. This has become very annoying. Please help.

P.S. I have checked "allow cookies".

If it’s only happening with 1 account, perhaps your bank changed it’s policy to protect from hacking.

If it’s multiple accounts, it has to be an issue with your system.
Perhaps a fire wall is turned on or you have a security corruption.

Have you been hacked lately? Is your internet connection secure or is it open?

How can I provide broadband internet access to my tenants without incurring telephone line rental?

I am about to rent out my property to students attending the local university.Broadband access appears to be a standard feature provided in such accomodation. So far I have not found an economical way of providing this which avoid risking uncontrollable telephone useage.Any suggestions J ( UK)

We made sure that the line is there ready to be connected but if the students want to connect it they do it themselves. You usually find the local cable companies have special deals on for students ( I know ours have in Wales) to help them do all this economically. You could provide a wireless router if you want but the you’d be liable for any repairs/misuse. We’ve not had a problem-they’re around £50 and the students have so far always provided their own (between 4 of them it’s not a huge expenditure).

Why can I no longer access pdf files when on-line?

I recently un-installed a trial version of Adobe Acrobat 8 Pro.
I still can automatically open pdf files on my computer and company intranet with Acrobat 7 Reader.

When you un-installed Reader 8, it didn’t completely remove itself.

Un-install and re-install Reader 7. This will over-write any corrupt or missing files.

Does anyone know if can use a barclay PDQ machine in india by installing it on a UK call centre telephone line?

I have to use a PDQ and can’t use epdq but need to use in India .I have already sourced the machine from barclays and also have a call centre set up in india so effectively I have a UK line access in india.

Not sure why you can’t just use web-based ePDQ or ePDQ Lite. Nevertheless, yes, the terminal should work on your analogue call centre line.

Free down loadable software for blocking access to specific sites on line?

Can anyone recommend some downloadable (and free!) software to allow me to block access to a particular website? I’m using Windows XP and Internet Explorer 7.
I have attempted to use the feature in the security settings with Internet Explorer, but this hasn’t worked. Any other solutions most welcome!

Zonealarm is pretty cool. Allways done the trick for me

Most police websites has a place to report a crime. Go to your local police department’s website and check it out. You can file a report right there as well.
