But they left something out, if you are running DSL Broadband with your current telephone provider you can get rid of you home phone for taking and placing calls, and get what is called a DSL standalone. That gives you DSL Internet without the use of the extra cost of a telephone and the worst part all the taxes that are incurred with having a home phone. You don't get charged taxes for having a DSL standalone line. It is less expensive than cable or a satellite or Wi Fi service. I have worked telecommunications for many years, both cable and land line. I professionally and personally would rather have DSL Broadband over any other service, because of safety (dedicated line), consistent speed, and better price. I know Dish was offering promotions to have DSL standalone through them.
