Spanish History

The first settlers on the Peninsula were the Celts and the Iberians. The first testimonials written about the country date back to this period. It is said that Hispania (the name the Romans used to describe the Peninsula) is a word of Semitic origin from Hispalis (Seville). From the year 1100 A.D. and until the middle of the 3rd century A.D., commercial and cultural contact with high Mediterranean civilisations was held with the Phoenicians and Greeks. At the end of this era, both civilisations were taken over by the Carthaginians and Romans, respectively. The Roman presence in Hispania lasted for seven centuries, during which time the basic borders of the Peninsula in relation to other European towns were set up.

Canary Island Holidays Always Make Me Return

Posted on February 6th, 2010 by admin in Travel | No Comments »

I realize this seriously isn’t a thing I mention very often, but the fact remains I am a real adventure addict. I’ve been to a lot of places in the past ten years that I can repeat a memory for almost any event. The factor is, lots of people really don’t like to waste hours following myself gas-bagging and raving.. Except if, that is, I’m preaching about my journeys on the Canary Islands. I’ve frequented this terrific part on the planet much more times than I am able to remember at this moment, and that is as I love it there. And so do many others out there, aparently. I have had postings coming from all over requesting me to publish a few traveling ideas about the Canary Islands as something web based, and anytime they say this I now include a solution for these people. I inform those that would like to plan their own holiday towards the Canaries to pay a visit to a specific Canary Islands holidays page on the internet that has a lot of additional specialized advice that I’ve penned. This method has been very popular until now and of course, if matters proceed in such a fashion I am going to be extending the site in order to make room for further sites of voyage recommendations!

Disneyland Paris

Well what can I say about this place? It’s unbelievable for starters! I have been to many places in the world and Disney is definately at the top of this list! This isn’t because I like seeing my childrens faces when they get there, because I don’t have kids! It’s purely because I love it.. You get in and are greeted with the famous castle. Everything else just doesn’t matter when you’re inside. So, what can you do to make sure your holiday goes as well as can be? Perhaps stay in one of the Disneyland Paris Hotels to enjoy your stay even more!

Want to Learn About Alaska Cruise Deals?

Posted on February 2nd, 2010 by admin in Travel | No Comments »

The type of ship you select can also have a big impact on your budget. There are basically three types you can consider. All of the big Alaska cruise lines are having huge ships and that is why they usually offer some very fascinating promotional offers so that they can fill their ships to the full capacity, that being their first priority. As you might have expected these ships offer very huge incentives in order to ensure for themselves that they are leaving the port with full capacity. The downside, of course, is that because their ships are so big, it can be hard to get in close to the glaciers and other wildlife that you’re hoping to see.

There are two other types of ships that offer a more intimate type of experience during the voyage but both these ships have greatly different price tags attached to their ticket. Priced towards the higher end, a few boutique cruise lines specialize in small ship adventures that bring you much closer to the scenery. One of the least expensive options is to make use of the ferries that move along the Alaskan coast. You might have to sleep over the deck of the ship but by doing that you are also going to save a huge amount of money for you.

Thus far one of the best planning would be to avail of the benefits of the experience of those passengers who had their journey on the ship in the past. There are numerous platforms from where one can get up to date and complete information about the latest special packages and the bargains being offered in the Alaskan cruise market. You’ll be amazed how much information your fellow cruisers will know, how happy they’ll be to share it with you, and how quick they are to respond. You can pay a visit to my blog named below where I have put up a few of my favorites Alaska cruise forums.
