It is also the tip of the iceberg, since many of the ORIGINAL RECORDS that they have filmed (ie court records, so forth).. are NOT online. It's free to use; they have added a new search pilot where you can narrow your searches down; they have the Social Security Death Index; the censuses of 1880-81 from the US, Canada & UK; and not to mention countries from Afghanistan to Zimbabwe. Be aware of multiple listings for the same person, however--some have parents/spouses mentioned, marriage dates/places, christening dates/places, etc. while others do not.
