Not only do they allow unlimited uploads, but they have really great privacy controls. You can set an album to be visible to everyone (in other words, Google could find the album), to just your network (friends of friends), to just your contacts (only people you've specifically accepted as contacts), or to just individuals (like just your wife). There's actually more options than that, but that gives you a sense of the breadth of options. (I keep most of my family photos set to contacts or network, but when I take pictures on a hike or something beautiful but not personal, I like to share those with a wider audience. So it's really nice to be able to change the settings on a per post basis.) Multiply not only does photos but you can also upload videos, reviews, links, blog posts, even recipes. And there are groups if you want to meet other people that are interested in similar things that you are. And every kind of post has similar privacy setting capabilities. You get your own personal site where you can organize all of your albums, videos, etc. So it's easy for someone to find what they want. But, even though you can see ALL the content on your site when you look at the home page, if you have everything set to private and I'm not your contact, all I'll see is your headshot and welcome message area. Even though YOU see your albums listed on your home page, I see nothing. Even if I get a direct link from someone, I can't see that album. The only exception to this rule is if you use the "share" feature to send a copy of an album (or recipe or blog post or whatever) to someone. Then even if they're not a contact, they can still click through on the link and see the post on your site. (This is handy when you want to send pictures to grandma too, but she can't figure out how to join the site.) Multiply also has great user support.
